Nick Vyssotsky is a Troy NY based artist whose practice is concerned with alienation, violence, technology and capitalism. This subject matter is explored across a broad spectrum of disciplines from installation, sculpture and video to text, audio and collage.

Of central importance to Vyssotsky’s practice is the exploration of environments both physical and digital at the periphery of mainstream culture. Investigations of abandoned buildings and vacant lots occur alongside examinations of online spaces populated by people identifying as social outcasts, conspiracy theorists, or political extremists. Throughout these lines of inquiry is an interest in what happens to physical environments as more aspects of life migrate to digital spaces, and what happens to people as more interpersonal interaction is mediated through the internet.

His work has been shown throughout the US as well as in Canada, Turkey, Colombia and Germany.
